"SVP has been a great launching pad for my social sector and philanthropy journey. I enjoyed my Grants Committee stint reviewing the NGOs and working together with SVP partners to select the best of the lot. I learnt immensely from my fellow partners and our investee NGOs about how the social sector works, what is effective and not so effective in addressing our social problems and in general the struggles of the sector. SVP has a unique and attractive model of providing both financial and non-financial support wherein the financial support is highly flexible in terms of permitted usage and the non-financial support is directly from highly experienced individuals from different walks of life. Indeed, the SVP family of warm, empathetic and like-minded individuals has made a big difference in my life."

Over the last several years in Delhi, I have seen the successful co-mingling of monetary contribution complemented by providing intangibles to the Investee firms – wisdom, leadership, guidance, process orientation. We see big CSR funding for large NGOs, but the relatively smaller ones do not get an excellent opportunity to get the proper financing along with the right mentorship. Contributing to that correct combination at SVP has kept me charged.

Priya is a communications enthusiast with fourteen years of work experience in Human Resources & Training. She enjoys music & kitchen gardening.
"SVP offered the right platform for me to follow through on my constant intent of "giving back." The joy of not only financially supporting a group of people but also being able to be a part of their lives, challenges & accomplishments has been enriching. The association with SVP reminded me of the talents I bring to the table that I had forgotten about or didn't know I had, because I got a chance to bring out the best in myself for an absolutely altruistic reason. This is a beautiful example of how we actually learn much more about ourselves when we commit to helping others. I thought of myself as a terrible salesperson until I raised substantial money as a Lead Partner for my NGO Kshamata. It's been a rewarding journey."

I joined SVP earlier this year, in the thick of Covid. During the second wave, my husband and I, eager to do something to help, began an initiative we called VaxAll. The purpose was to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible to help stave off severe symptoms of Covid and to possibly avoid a third wave. This initiative is what got us thinking more about philanthropy and giving. Joining SVP is our opportunity to both learn about giving and to give - both financially and of our experience. Learning about organizations that have a social context, the perseverance and grit of their founders and the means and methods they have used to make a difference are a terrific learning experience for me. SVP's focus on both teaching and learning from such entities is refreshing and humbling. Most of all, I truly appreciate SVP's mission of awakening the philanthropist in all of us.
